The Catastrophe Readiness Clearinghouse multimedia resource collection is located on the mezzanine level of the Adult Reading Room of the Middle Country Public Library (Centereach, NY). There is an additional resource collection in the Children’s Room with readiness information, activities and materials especially for children and parents. The Catastrophe Readiness Clearinghouse includes the following materials:
Books, videos/DVDs, sample “go kits”, software programs, newsletters and journals (electronic and print) related to emergency preparedness and contingency planning for businesses, families, and individuals.
Materials for children and families that help parents, children, and caregivers cope with difficult and disruptive events.
Sample disaster plans from a variety of government, not-for-profit, and business entities.
Tip sheets, brochures, and pamphlets from authoritative sources – to provide individuals, families, and businesses with information on creating their own site-specific emergency preparedness and response plan.
